A couple of weeks ago I was meeting with one of our Boise Brides to do planning for her wedding this summer.  This Bride had some GREAT ideas!  One idea she had was for her bouquet toss:

SURPRISE BOUQUET TOSS: Invite out all of your guests - old, young, married, single.  When you throw your bouquet the person who finds it will be so excited to find in the flowers a gift card for dinner!!!  You could also include other prizes - like a massage gift certificate, lottery tickets, movie tickets, passes to roaring springs, etc.

Hey Boise Brides - did YOU watch the Royal Wedding??  Isn't Kate so BEAUTIFUL?  As I have been thinking about the Royal Wedding, all I could think is all the IDEAS we can get from looking at the details of this amazing and historic wedding.  First, let's start with Kate's beautiful ring.  The ring originally belonged to Princess Diana and consists of a beautiful 18 carat sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds.  The ring is absolutely gorgeous and I can expect we may see more of this style of ring being worn by brides.  GUESS WHAT?  You can purchase a replica of the ring for $19.90 for a limited time.  This is a great idea for bridal party gifts, mother's day gifts, or a special gift for your bride to be.  You can check it out here: Royal Heirloom Ring.

Lately I have been receiving a lot of questions about how far in advance someone should book their DJ for their Boise Wedding or Party.  This is a GREAT question.  We have found that DJs are one of the last event vendor booked - but is one of the very most important.

BOISE WEDDINGS: When it comes to weddings we recommend booking your DJ at least 6 months in advance - depending on the time of year you get engaged.  The busiest booking time for DJs in the Boise area is January-March.  Come the middle of March, most of the higher end DJs have their summers completely or nearly completely booked, which just a few openings on Fridays or weekdays.  If you get engaged in the fall or winter we recommend booking as soon as feasible for you and your fiance to secure your date.  This also allows you to take advantage of winter booking specials (we offer a promotion for all summer wedding booked between Halloween and New Year's).  Many Brides wait until the January wedding shows to book so they can meet and interview many different DJs.  This is a fine plan, but just be aware that starting at the Wedding Shows in the weeks after, dates fill up QUICKLY.  If you have a fall or winter wedding, we recommend having your DJ secured by June.  Around this time many DJs book fall and winter dates for school dances and company parties - but you want to make sure you have priority, so book early. 

BOISE EVENTS: When booking a DJ for your Boise Event, 4-6 months in advance is usually sufficient.  It does, however, availability will depend on what time of year your event is being held.  Summer months are busy months for weddings (May-August) and December is common for company parties.  If you are holding an event during these busy months, especially on a Saturday, the earlier you can book the better.

Hope this helps answer some questions about how early to book your Boise DJ for your wedding or event.  Remember, it is never to early to reserve your date - you might be glad you did!  :)

Boise DJ - Weddings, Parties, Events

There are 3 catagories of music to consider when choosing music for your wedding.

The first is the background music. This is music that will be played as your guests arrive for your ceremony and cocktail hour, or during dinner. You can choose to have your DJ select what he will or you can be as involved in selection as you want to be. Ask your DJ for a list of artists that he would play for background music. Feel free to also select all of the songs for your background music. A great Wedding DJ will make sure he has all of the songs you request and he will incorporate them at the appropriate times during the night.

The second catagory of music is the dedicated songs, or special moments music. These are specific songs for your ceremony and the special activities at your reception. These songs should be chosen by your and your fiance and should reflect your personality and style. Don't hesitate to ask your DJ for some lists and suggestions. The songs you select for these activities will be attached to memories that you will carry with you for a long time.

The final category is the music for dancing. You should definitely go over the types and styles of music that you would like for dancing at your reception with your DJ. This will included favorite artists, types of music, and specific songs. You should also discuss with your DJ what songs not to play! A great DJ will play what music you want first, what your guests want second, and will play what will fit the best for the others. Your DJ should work with you and your guests even before the wedding day to know what will and will not be played. A great Boise Wedding DJ will not just push play, but select each song, one at a time, according to the evening. Good luck with selecting all of your wedding day music, and have lots of fun with it!
