Looking for a fun way to gather song requests from your guests for your Boise Wedding?  One of our recent Brides had a great idea - she had a place for song requests on her RSVP reply cards.  When we met with her to do planning she had compiled all the song requests and gave them to us (her Boise DJ) to prepare for the wedding.  What a great idea!  

Wedding guests LOVE to request songs - it helps them feel involved and excited about your wedding reception.  When it comes to song requests, a great Boise DJ will make sure the requests are appropriate for your wedding and fit what you want to hear that evening.  When songs are requested that won't fit well into the evening, your DJ should work with the guests to request more or different songs.  At Sound Wave Music, our DJs are fully trained to work with guests in a fun, friendly, and professional way so they can request songs all night long.

Preparing for your wedding and thinking about that important moment you step onto the dance floor for your first dance as husband and wife? This can be an important and special moment - and sometime a little scary, too!  Here are some tips to help you feel confident:
  • Relax -  Take a deep breath and relax.  Most people at your wedding will not have a lot of dance experience and will not know if you do either

I have to admit - this year we have had some of the most AMAZING and CREATIVE brides!  I am always amazed at all the fun ideas our brides find and come up with.  One of my FAVE ideas from 2011 was the Wedding Fingerprint Tree.  This idea takes a new spin on the old boring guest book. Instead of signing a book, guests leave a fingerprint on your wedding tree and sign their name (small).  After the wedding, this doubles as a beautiful piece of artwork for your home.  If only I would have thought of this 7 years ago.....

Are you to the stage in your wedding planning that you are considering your options for your wedding cake?  There is something classic and fun about a wedding cake.  Did you know it is one of the special activities of a wedding that the majority of guests will stick around for?  Everyone wants to see the Bride and Groom cut their cake and share the first bite.  Here are some important points to consider when choosing your wedding cake:
  1. How Many Guests Are you Expecting?  This will help determine the size of cake to order.
  2. Will the guests be eating your actual wedding cake or will you have sheet cake/cupcakes as well?
  3. Where at your venue will the cake be displayed?  Pay special attention to heat, people walking around the cake regularly, location of other special activities to create a seamless flow between activities.
  4. How will you have your cake decorated? Simple? Matching a Theme? Embellished with Flowers, Sentimental Fabrics (like your mother's veil), or Other Embellishments?
  5. Do you enjoy the flavor of the cake?  This is one of the most important factors to your guests.  How rich is the cake?  How sweet?  Will you vary flavors between the differing layers?

Planning a holiday party and looking for some tips to make it stress free and fun?  We have some ideas that might help:

1. Keep It Simple. The most fun thing about holiday parties is being together.  Don't overschedule yourself or your guests.  A few simple activities will keep the guests entertained and be sure to give the guests time to relax and visit.

2. Enlist the Help of Others.  Need an extra hand?  Don't be afraid to ask guests to bring a dessert to share or to pitch in with set up and take down.  If your budget allows, consider hiring a caterer to help with food and a DJ or live musician to help keep the party rolling.  Check out our Preferred Vendors for some great people to call.

3. Plan for the Kiddos.  Will your party have children or be adults only?  Be clear about this in your holiday invitations.  If children will be at your party, consider having pre-made activity kits or kids friendly activities available.  Some people even have an on-site babysitter to take care of the little ones during the party. 

4. Have FUN!  The holidays are all about celebrating togetherness - enjoy yourselves and your guests and have a great time!
